Anno Birkin was killed in 2001, aged just 20. A selection of his poems -Who Said the Race Is Over?- was first published in 2003 to wide acclaim, and have thus far sold over 5,000 copies. This double CD is a complete recording of the book, read by talents including Sir Ian Holm, Greta Scacchi, Alan Rickman, Samantha Morton, Francesca Annis, Richard E Grant, Hayley Mills, Bruce Robinson, Honeysuckle Weeks, John Hurt, Jane Birkin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jenny Agutter, Alice Coulthard, Charlotte Gainsbourg and many others. All profits go to Anno's Africa, a charity created in his memory to help African slum children realise their own artistic potential.
